Faith & Worship
STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:1,26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1,3; John 4:24; Acts 5:3,4; Romans 1:20; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:5,6)
2. We believe that the Bible is God’s written revelation to humanity and that it is the only inspired, infallible guide for salvation and life, without error in all it teaches.
(2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21)
3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory.
(Isaiah 53; Matthew 1:18-25; Matthew 20:28; Matthew 28:6; Luke 1:26-38; John 2:2; John 3:16; Acts 1:11; Romans 3:24-26; Romans 5:1; Romans 9:5; Romans 10:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4,14; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; Titus 2:13)
4. We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, giving them assurance of salvation, spiritual gifts, and enabling them to live godly lives.
(Ezekiel 36:27; Joel 2:28; John 14:17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:9,11,16; Galatians 4:6; 1 John 3:24; 1 John 4:13)
5. We believe that human beings were created in the image of God, but because of sin, were alienated from God. That alienation can be removed only by accepting through faith alone God’s gift of salvation, which was made possible by Christ’s death.
(Genesis 1:26, 27; 3:1-24; John 3:3,5; John 1:12, 13; Romans 3:25; Romans 5:12-18; Ephesians 2:8,9; James 1:18; 1 John 1:8; 1 Peter 1:23)
WORSHIP
“Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you;
your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.” (Isaiah 26:8 NIV)O God we pray – for the sake of your glory, for the sake of your great name -
come and do a mighty work among us.
The Bridgewood Church Music & Worship Ministry is in agreement with the preceeding verse and prayer – that we exist foremost to give God the honor due Him, that He be recognized, honored, and authentically worshipped in this community. With any mighty work He chooses to do among us, we pray that it be for his renown. It is our desire that each of the Music and Worship Ministry teams would foster worship experiences that honor God and impact worshippers from the simple to the most profound levels.
